Are you ready for a spooktacular Halloween at the Metro Cinema? We are! Among the creepy classics they will be showing, you will find titles such as What We Do In The Shadows and Xanadu, Get Out, Pearl, the Evil Dead Trilogy and Army of Darkness.

One film stands out as a Canadian cult classic, a midnight favourite if you will, called Tales From The Gimli Hospital, which will be shown on October 29th at 10pm. (Get your tickets here!)

Director Guy Maddin debuted in 1988 with this tale of two men’s jealousy and madness set in the very early 1900s, during a smallpox epidemic in the village of Gimli, Manitoba. The film has been remastered by the director himself, with an additional scene added that had originally been cut. This film is packed with silent film techniques and wry tropes providing commentary on societal concepts of hardships.
